I’ve learned that giving access to certain beloved art to the masses will bring with it a critique that it may not have been exposed to previously. There are people that are watching it that don’t even know what the wizard of oz is about. The cleverness of Wicked is lost on them. There are people watching it that don’t like musicals. The beauty of the songs and talent is lost on them. It feels bad but honestly I think the movie version is great. I read the book and saw the broadway production.
