No women truly believes that every man is violent or awful or whatever. They know it's not all men, but hearing men say that is just ignoring that fact that they're are bad men out there. Why not just apologize?

It’s actually not a our job to understand generalizations like that. If you can’t look at men as individual people the way we look at women as individual people, maybe therapy is the best option for you

Yep, and it’s my job to be both an ally when I can be and not part of the problem all the time, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t take offense to being lumped in with literal felons. That’s like saying car accidents are bad so we should stop driving. Car accidents ARE TERRIBLE, but to think that’s the only element of driving is woefully ignorant. It’s the ratatouille problem, anyone can suck, but not everyone does.
