We generally give the “protect yourself” advice to adults, because adults can protect themselves.

yes but cleary adults aren't the only ones who need protection.

Yes that’s true. When it comes to children, my recommendation is that the adults around them provide the protection.

i wish it were that easy, im sure a lot of those cases what happened to them happened by an adult they were supposed to trust.

but that implies that child is being honest about what is happening to them, which from another post isn't always the case. apparently some people don't see the benefits of saying something
