What can I say that actually works to get men to leave me alone when I’m out. Being kind doesn’t work, being mean doesn’t work, being gentle doesn’t work, being direct doesn’t work, etc. I’ve seen sometimes “I’m a feminist” works, but idk

Did you try “leave me alone”? Maybe I’m fortunate in my friends, but that would work on 99-100% of the men I know

That sometimes makes them more interested unfortunately

if ur comfortable maybe just get more aggressive with it and say “f off im not interested” or sum (prob helps to pack some type of mace or self defense for ur own safety)

In the nicest way possible, these are the two most obvious things to do, they do not work. I need something weird, something that just makes them back off and leave me alone. Asking or telling them to do so only works like a quarter of the time

if they aren’t leaving you alone and you’ve told them that then call the fkn cops and say you’re being harassed

or just get a safety whistle

No. I made this post having not tried “leave me alone”.

Thank you captain obvious! And it’s not like the police are very helpful for an insistent guy at the bar. Nor can they help in the immediate moment where he could hurt me. But thanks for the “safety whistle” advice. Never heard that one before.

don’t be condescending to me, i gave you four viable options and you want me to come up with some magic full-proof solution for every possible unpleasant situation you could be in with a man. the last thing i can think of is buying a gun, but it seems like you just want to say “no” to everything

Besides your first option, which doesn’t work, you’ve listed three things I covered in my original post, just with specific examples. They don’t work. I’m not gonna say they do when they in fact do not. Stop replying if you don’t have an answer that is helpful. Maybe there isn’t a perfect solution, that’s becoming clear, but I figured it couldn’t hurt to at least ask.

You shouldn’t be sarcastic when the truth isn’t obvious. You do realize 90+% of women would never think of that? Next time one of them tells you a story about a scary guy, ask her how he responded to “leave me alone” and you’ll be surprised by the answer. But obvi I’m disturbed to hear that doesn’t always work for you. At that point I’d have to agree with #1 to get a weapon. Taser may be wiser than pepper spray though. Safer & easier to control.

well in your replies it’s clear that you’re dealing with some type of super stalker men that won’t give up and won’t leave you alone bc otherwise i feel most of these tactics would be like 99% effective

Figured that was covered with “I’ve tried being direct”

They usually just get bored af later bothering/harassing me for a while. I want to know if there’s literally anything that might get them away faster so I can enjoy my day/night. Apparently that doesn’t exist.

like, the same people every day? if so, gather evidence and file a police report

No, like every time I go out and I’m approached by guys, 9/10 there’s at least one or two who hang around and won’t leave no matter what I say. I just want something to say so they walk away and go somewhere else when “no thank you”, “leave me alone”, “fuck off”, or “I’m gay” doesn’t work.
