Why don’t y’all take your fellow male SA victims seriously? Saying that he is lucky or wishing it happened to you instead of offering support like how many women do for other women.

deadass I’m so mad that my assaulter was a conventionally attractive woman dude mfs simply do not understand how I could be opposed in the first place

Feels like we’ve been conditioned to believe sex in any form is a good thing for us, so we brush off our own uncomfortable experiences and the traumatic ones of others because, in that perspective, it’s “”lucky”” to get any at all

I blame media and their glorification of it.

It’s cause some guys have zero control over their libido’s and genuinely can’t fathom a guy not wanting to have sex 🤢

I wish people understood how common it is:/ every guy I’ve dated has experienced it and I’ve watched them struggle with it. That pain is real and I’m sorry to any of you that has experienced it

No seriously this happened on my college yikyak some guy was trying to talk about getting sexually harassed and the comments were all FLOODED with people at least claiming to be guys telling him to shut up and that he was lucky and “suffering from success” Made me sick. I tried to send him a supportive message and help him and I got downvoted off

The people saying those things are obviously not the same people supporting victims. Stop generalizing

Most guys don't want to talk about it. The rare times I do hear about it, Idk if I ever didn't reach out to them about it

I mean the wording is too general but she’s asking about the general environment. Reread the post. I agree plenty of men support victims but the overall culture of both men and women is not supportive of male victims. This is something victims talk about

But that’s how guys I talk to say they get treated irl too. Why are you so defensive about this? It being online doesn’t excuse it

she was also my ex girlfriend and would hit me during our relationship and mfs would be like “so why didn’t you defend yourself? you’re stronger” like bro that’s why I don’t hit back, you just answered your own question, I’d look like the abuser if I defended myself because she didn’t leave bruises and I would have

After having read this, I realize I’m lucky in that the worst that’s ever happened to me was being sent a topless photo by what was probably a bot. Still messed me up for a day or two though. Told my friend about it and he completely misread the mood and tried to give me a high five after saying, “Hell yeah, dude.” He apologized after he realized I wasn’t super stoked about it.

I’m so sorry you went through that. I hope you can find more people you can trust and will provide real support and attempt to understand what you went through. I pray you can find men who will provide real companionship and support you in future relationships in the same we women do for each other.

At least women will support other women in cases where men won’t, so it sounds awfully lonely that men aren’t providing the same for each other.
