I think the difference is the threshold for men to be considered attractive is a lot higher than it is for women. And also women barely approach anyone anyways

That’s not true. Ask unattractive women and they can def tell you that they’re not treated as people because they’re unattractive and are looked over and get nasty vibes from most men. Not just attractive men

I know I’m a relatively attractive guy and get approached/pursued by women—I try to be kind when rejecting them. I don’t think there really is a one sided meanness at all, it rly depends on the individual. I try to isolate myself from women outside my family tbh. I think the meanest thing I’ve done is just be very professional/business-like/cold if I get the feeling someone likes me. If they verbalize that attraction I’ll try and kindly let them down

Bc if ur attractive u have more options and consciously or not u look down on ppl for shooting their shot w u if they’re uglier. Cause from ur pov u don’t even have to entertain this bc there r plenty of other ppl out there. Goes for both men and women.
