of course it’s not weird, with stuff like that you really need to listen to your gut about what you’re comfortable with!! anybody who pressures you to meet up or do ANYTHING before you’re ready does not have your best interests at heart

It’s not weird, but it maybe should be and fair warning he MAY unmatch you. There’s a pen-pal epidemic and it’s basically the new catfishing so a lot of guys are already thoroughly exasperated by it. If he really likes you, he may tough it out and cling to hope, but he’ll probably assume you’ll lose interest long before you get to that point and/or get the ick when it comes time to actually meet. If you want to stand out (in a positive way), be the girl who DOESN’T do that

It's not weird if you give him the honest reason, but if you're vague he'll assume you're leading him on and wasting his time for attention.

To be clear, not that there’s anything wrong with rejecting someone. But when you match with a guy, he wants to believe you’re already interested enough to give him a real chance. Being a swipe-now-sort-later is super discouraging

I have to agree with this. The “norm” now I feel is if you don’t meet someone sooner rather than later, the convo fizzles out. I’m a good texter and I don’t mind, but I always have that fear that I’m just a distraction if I can’t get anything solid in like a date or an event to go do
