I’m not a man but it would feel kind of pointless for me personally. I’ve already changed my last name from my fathers to my mothers for personal reasons, so it would feel kind of pointless to change it again after the whole shabackle the first time. It wouldn’t be a dealbreaker or anything but I might be hesitant.
Honestly I’d be a bit disappointed if my future wife doesn’t take my name. It’s not a dealbreaker, and I understand why some women want to keep their maiden name, but to me it shows more of a “union” or something, idk. Plus kids having hyphenated last names is always annoying af. I’m a bit old fashioned I guess
I don’t think you need to change it nowadays it’s usually just an addition. It’s mostly for formalities when having kids and all so everyone knows you belong to the same family. Like my parents have different last names on their ids and everything only on their passports it’s her last name and then my dad’s last name having both that way it matches.
you’re trying to do some weird gotcha and be like “ha! still a man’s name!” but like… women don’t keep their names because they want a “woman’s name” … their degrees have their last names, deceased relatives & siblings share their name, and its a legal pain in the butt… people have all sorts of reasons & it’s weird to make it a gender war thing 💀
