Depends on how long a “while” is… I have a buddy who fell hard for some girl and she was absolutely not having it all throughout HS… and like 7 years later he’s still a bit weird about her so definitely still has something in him for her.

Eventually they go away. Managing crushes is a normal part of adult life.

there was a girl i was basically obsessed with for a short time in hs, but now it would be hard for me to think of her as more than a friend. so i would say they don’t always linger
