Genuine question; do you guys think men with abusive mothers have a hard time trusting women the same way women with abusive father have a hard time trusting men?

Idk abt that it’s more that I just try and be very cautious in avoiding certain traits I know my mother has when looking for someone. I’ve kinda moved past the trauma now and forgiven her while recognizing she is and will continue being a flawed person that gave birth to and raised me. I also grew up with an older sister that went through the same stuff so ik there are other normal women I can behave differently around and actually trust

i think it depends on the person. one of my friends had an abusive mother and he’s way too trusting of women now. but i see where you’re getting this from and think thats true too

It can vary. You see some men not trusting women after that, but you do also see men then doing whatever they can to seek praise from women/find a woman to fill the void their mother left

In what way do you not trust them?

It’s like a subconscious thing

Yeah many things can be true at once. Trauma is weird like that

So some men seek female validation the same way some women seek male validation?

For sure. It’s not uncommon for a man who had a poor relationship with his mother to try and fill that void with a “motherly” partner

Is this where the “man child” trope comes in to play 😟
