is a girl reading romance books (not necessarily excessive smut, but maybe a sex scene or two) a turn off?

Nah I read them too. They’re usually pretty cute and fun, and they can give me good ideas

Not a turn off, love reading and even though romance is not my genre to read for fun, romance is still something I’ll give to her

If someone thinks it’s a turnoff to be reading that, they’re not understanding that there is more to knowledge than one simple end, and that end being gratification. If someone doesn’t understand that sex is usually paired with emotional intimacy, and that’s a valid way to further a relationship between two lovers, that’s on him

Even if she read smut, that wouldn’t be a turn off.

Nah it’s not like you’re getting off to smut multiple times a day

Not really. Ive been reading the witcher which has its fair share of intimate scenes. I’d say the difference is how they are presented. The witcher writes them a bit more abstractly and vaguely while I am aware other books go into excruciating detail. I think the latter would bother me

i wouldn’t call this erotica, there are smut and erotica books and this is different, moreso fade-to-black scenes

Nevertheless it seems like you get something from it that you enjoy, it’s really not a big deal when you’re dating

Yo, I just commented my opinion, yall downvoting me just because you’re so insecure that a fucking book can make you jealous can all rest assured that you’ll never have to worry about whether or not a girl likes smut since that would require girls to be even interested in you in the first place to matter.

yeah, normal adult romance books might contain a sex scene or two, and is reading about that a red flag? i just feel like a lot of guys write all of it off as porn

Yes that’s not a red flag. If anything it’s a good challenge to try to be as romantic as the protagonists in the bokms
