Lying or being untruthful about your political views to get someone to like you is just as coercive as lying or being untruthful about your body count or sexual experience to get someone to like you Agree?

Why would I want to argue with someone I just met about politics?? I get the lying about sexual partners but some people cannot handle others have different view points

Sure, but if a girl asks me about politics I’m going to yap about theory for as long as I can get away with.

Hard agree. Reminder that we live in a world in which “politics” is who deserves rights. Especially if you are your friends are immigrants, trans, queer, or anything else currently under attack.

I usually lead with politics is because I don’t want to associate with people who support a fascist, be or dating or anything it’s important that you have similar moral values.

“Cannot handle when others have different view points” no that’s a personal boundary, just like when guys have a personal boundary against being with girls who have high body counts

Anonymous replying to -> OP 1d

That’s on them too. They are allowed to not want to be with women who have high body counts. I don’t want a man with a high body count wtf??? Difference is, most men have high body counts and want women with low body counts. They gotta hold themselves to the same standard. I have 2 bodies and one of them is my long term boyfriend right now and he also has 2. It’s all about preference so idk what you’re arguing rn

Yeah i agree. I personally want someone who is a virgin because it’s just something that I value and I’m waiting as well, so I don’t think people should lie about that

Yeah exactly. Hold yourself to the same standards you want. Also respect for that with you 🤝. I just don’t know why OP is comparing sexual partners to politics. It doesn’t make sense and idk what they’re trying to argue bc politics are so different from sex be so fr

That’s just dumb though. Politics are different from sex. I am not going to tell someone my political views. Sex is intimate and should be put in the open, politics don’t have to be. You’re being stupid

Not exactly. Lying about sex is a safety concern because of stds and everything. Lying about politics isn’t, it’s just that if someone disagrees it can cause an argument. That’s what I’m saying. This post should’ve just said “lying is bad” like no shit Sherlock.

Why are you being rude lmao? You can have an std regardless of your body count so that’s just silly. Lying to someone to make yourself seem more attractive to get them to be intimate with you is coercion. This isn’t a “lying is bad” conversation it’s a conversation about consent

I will lie all I want with politics. You have to do it all the time in college which is what I currently do. I will lie and be super liberal on my college essays bc if I don’t I fail bc all colleges are liberal pretty much especially the one I go to.

And yes you’re right in that sense. But again, you think someone is going to say they’re liberal and suddenly want to sleep with that person? I mean personally if someone im interested in I would soft launch my political views but I would not give my full opinions until I know them better. If their whole thing is politics and that’s all they can talk about I wouldn’t be interested in the first place. So that’s the exception but even then I don’t really think it matters, as long as you like the person politics shouldn’t have a say on if you like them or not

I think it’s all on preference then. I’m pretty passionate about what I believe in but I am not going to judge someone for having different beliefs than I do. Bc at the end of the day people all have different experiences in life which makes them have those opinions and they are allowed to have them.
