i want to try dating but every guy i meet is so sexual. i don’t talk to them or entertain them but i can’t even figure out how to begin dating because every guy that talks to me doesnt ask me on a date. what do i do about this?

I get this so much. I’m not a sexual girl and it’s crazy that if I turn down something that just don’t care for me anymore. Or when I think I have a connection I realize they just want something out of me.

i would also like to add i’m sure it’s not how i present myself in person or online. some of these men are ones i’ve met while dressed in business casual and they never have me on any social media

Yeah a lot of ppl in college can be like that. Prob scope them out first to get an idea of what kinda person they are before just jumping into dating tbh, maybe join a club and see how they interact, their values, what kind of company they keep, just who they are generally

This is a really common issue that women deal with. It’s hard.

so potentially i’m not doing anything wrong to attract these sorts of people?

this is what i’ve tried doing in the past but idk if im intimidating or guys just aren’t interested in talking to me platonically, but when i talk to guys in classes or in clubs they get really awkward and short with me and it doesn’t go anywhere…

i’ve tried this too. i’m willing to initiate sometimes but ngl i feel like this is a good setup to end up with a guy who just isn’t interested. a lot of men don’t turn down women who make the first move even if they’re not interested. and i do like social guys so there’s a comparability issue too

I feel the same way. I’ve tried asking out the quieter guys because I want it to be a real connection, but I don’t feel as compatible with them because I want someone who is playful, open and wanting to be social with others.

yeah i used to specifically like shy guys because i thought it was cute but now i like someone that’s social and also very expressive. i don’t think i have the patience for a man that isn’t social

Hmm maybe ask your friend groups and family. if they know people who fit your vibe & aren’t disgusting that they could introduce you to?

Well in that case you’re gonna have to settle one way or the other 🤷‍♂️

being single isn’t settling. i’d rather do that!😁

i think the reason this has failed in the past is that my friends have only tried setting me up with guys who asked to be set up with me…which tend to be the same type of men that i seem to attract in general. there’s always the future, and i’d like to branch out more.
