If he is your best friend, please don’t ghost It’s an aspect of the relationship, he’s going to be interested until he isn’t. If that becomes something that interferes with you being friends it’s a problem, otherwise it’s on him, not you. Have the adult conversation (sounds like you maybe did already) set your boundaries, and be consistent. If you care about him as a friend, keep being a good friend.

unsure. Him sticking around could mean he’s accepted it and values your friendship too much to leave, or it could mean he’s gonna try again. Idk exactly what happened when you told him

At first, I said that we needed to have a conversation, but it was too late at night and I was too tired to think properly and he said yeah sorry, and then I told him not to respond and he hasnt

Emotion is tough. Most people can’t turn them on and off. Like 2 said, no idea what the conversation is that you’re having, but I suspect that the last thing he is trying to do is ruin it

I basically told him he is desperate and lonely (he has said that himself) and I felt like he saw a warm body who was attractive to him, and that I have said no before and feel disrespected
