Selective empathy is so weird to me. I don't understand ppl who are upset abt Charlie Kirk but are unphased when marginalized communities get hurt

Because at the end of the day everyone makes it political rather than about morals

This has been my exact reaction. I don’t think the guys deserved to die by any means, but why didn’t we see this energy when other people were killed??

Here’s my take on this. Charlie Kirk was well known AND everyone saw how he died. I think that’s why everyone is taking it hard. It was such a brutal death and we all witnessed how it happened. I think you can be upset about his death and also of those in other communities. It’s not often that you see how someone dies. You may hear of it, but not see it.

Part of it id say has to do with how public it was, i bet people would care less if the slow mo zoomed in video wasnt all over their phones

This shows your lack of respect obviously everyone should have the same energy when someone is killed but this isn’t the time to bring it up when talking about Charlie Kirk’s death

There was footage of the death of George Floyd? There are also several videos and images of the genocide that is currently happening in Gaza right now, like wdym it's not that often?

Yeah so the footage of George Floyd DID cause outrage. Everyone was upset about that!! People are also upset about Gaza as well so I’m not understanding why you’re using those as examples?? I don’t see the point in comparing tragedies?? Violence is not the answer period. And I still stand by my point, you don’t always see videos of someone dying a tragic death.
