Do you think that hiding being pregnant from a guy and getting an abortion without telling him you are pregnant are the same thing? (This is a hypothetical question I’m not going thru this rn)

For starters, honesty is always the best policy. Second, I personally believe that abortion is wrong, but so is lying about pregnancy.

To more precisely answer the question: no, those are not the same thing

The guilt I'd have from her having an abortion would ruin me. I'd probably turn to celibacy

Definitely not the same. One scenario doesn’t take away his opportunity to be a father

in the best case scenario, she would be open and tell her partner, but things dont always go so smoothly. at the end of the day its her body her choice, and its not morally wrong for a woman to terminate a pregnancy if she doesnt want to be pregnant anymore

oops i misread. yeah its not the same thing, but in every scenario a woman should be able to abort, with or without the mans involvement

Yeah but a woman can carry a pregnancy through without a man’s involvement as well. It’s not really a question of whether or not they CAN do it if they want. It’s about if both types of deceit are comparable, and why or why not

Fair point, but the aggression with which I’ve seen folks get attacked in there is not at all justified. Especially that this is YikYak and most people just scroll through their FYP without realizing which “community” they’re on. (For example, #3, who didn’t realize that this was “AskMen”)
