Maybe the don’t wanna come across as a groomer? Gen Z, growing up on the internet, is more sensitive to the threat of being groomed or exploited since it’s been drilled into our heads that every person we talk to online could be a pedophile. So we’re more sensitive to the optics of the situation. Also, the 19-22 age gap, I guess it’s fine as long as the two people are in similar stages of life, maturity, and independence.
