I'd also like to add there's a fine line between being descriptive and being too wordy, that line is also at a different spot for every man, so figuring out where that line is can be very useful. Too few words and he'll get bored, too many and he ain't reading all that. Pictures are a much safer bet, it's hard to mess those up, but words can be effective if you're good at what you do.
