Yeah, it’s like a standup comedy talent show “judged” by actual comedians. A bunch of people sign up to try out their material in front of the audience, and then they pull names out of a bucket and hope for the best, the pro comics have some hilarious banter with the participants. TLDR: yeah it’s dumb humor but it’s still really damn funny
I think you are talking about the difference between punching down vs punching up. Punching down can be funny if it is done right but a lot of time it's just people laughing at other expenses. I was talking more about punching up/calculated humor. Something you'd see in a movie or tv show or book etc.
I also could be misinterpreting what ur saying. I think a gullible person can be unintentionally funny but i wouldn't describe them as funny if that makes sense. However i would describe a witty person as funny. It's kinda like the one stupid character in every show that all other characters make fun of bc the stupid character doesn't think they are stupid. I however personally don't find that type of humor funny. Which is why i don't watch shows like that fr
Tony Hinchcliffe is the host and they bring in different comedians (and other public figures) as guest judges for each episode. They’ve had Mark Normand, Tom Segura, Post Malone, Gabriel Iglesias, RFK Jr., Jimmy Carr, Theo Von, and many more Pretty much all of it is improv except the 60 second sets that all the people who signed up have prepared. Since the pros don’t have anything written down, they’re just running on pure wit and timing rather than jokes they’ve carefully crafted and honed.
