The republican before the party realignment and after do not support the same things at all. In 1920, the Democratic Party was kind of really only the south, northern “democrats” were hesitant in voting because they didn’t want black women to have voices (harshly but simply put). So for 100+ democrats to still be able to vote when they already have a lack of members is incredible! In 1965. The Democratic Party actually celebrated under Lyndon Johnson’s presidency this vote for voting rights
