it’s definitely awkward, but as long as you stay relaxed, you shouldn’t feel too much if any pain. if you are sexually active in any way / have used tapons and such, you should be all good. the little gun thing (idk what it’s called) is rounded and almost always metal, so honestly it’s just like…cold🤷♀️ (plus having a nice doctor always helps)
And I can back up #1, the most painful part for me was the forceps they use to move your cervix into position. That pinches, and you’ll feel it, but if you’ve ever had an iud inserted or some std tests you might’ve had that done before. In all honesty, it was pretty quick, more uncomfortable and slightly crampy than pinchy and painful. If this is one of your first couple of visits, ask your gyno to let you know what’s happening on so (which they should do) you can kinda breathe through it.
