27 just going to college, no boyfriend. I feel so behind. All my friends are getting married and having babies. I never wanted kids immensely but now I feel like my biological clock is ticking more and more. Do you guys feel this pressure too?

Your biological clock isn’t ticking. I can’t say much else to help but I can say that my mom had my brother at 34, me at 37 and my sister at 41. You have plenty of years left to do whatever you want in life.

I felt some of that pressure, and I think it’s really understandable to feel that way. Personally, that pressure has let off, because I’ve had some time to think about whether I really truly wanted kids (and everything that comes with them for 18+ years), or whether I was mainly concerned with the idea that the opportunity would go away (almost like FOMO). In my case, it turned out to be the latter.

My mom had me when she was in her 40s. You’ve got plenty of time!

Just because you’ve seen online that later pregnancies can be risky doesn’t mean all children have issues from being a later pregnancy. We don’t have literally any of those issues.

it’s good for potential mothers to be informed about increased risks that may come with being older, but this is like the rudest, most dismissive way to bring those up. My mom was older when she had me and my sister, and we did not have those conditions.
