Alright, I’m a male housekeeper and I work in an all girls dorm. Why do some women ask to take a shower while I’m inside cleaning the bathroom? I feel like it’s extremely inappropriate

Is there another bathroom available? Bc if not, they might just be trying to do what they can with their schedule. If there are other bathrooms on that floor, they’re being rude. Just say no, and that you have to clean. If someone goes to the bathroom, tell them that you’re cleaning and you need it to be empty, and ask them to not to do it again. Usually women that age won’t tell a male staff member no. They’ll be sheepish and talk to their friends about it after they scurry off

Umm that is inappropriate, do not be afraid to set boundaries and say no. Stay safe 😀

I mean college age women believing the delusion of they gotta sleep around and be super reckless and crazy in college sexually or they’ll never get to do it again. It’s just that they’re just trying to live a sexual fantasy that doesn’t really exist because they’re dumb.

I’ve had that happen 2 times in 3 work days and another day a RA came in and started going to the bathroom when I was cleaning the toilets. Almost went to my manager

…this is not why u dumbass. They’re still human beings with normal behaviors. They’re being rude and self centered, they’re not…coming in at strategic times to try and fuck the cleaning guy.

Esp if they really need to go to the bathroom and there’s no other bathrooms around and go in their own stall I kinda get it

There is one bathroom that has one shower and sink that’s super close to it, I have times posted outside the doors to let them know when I clean them and I follow them pretty well.

Okay, I understand how it’s uncomfortable for you. That’s completely logical. But if there’s one bathroom, these girls are probably just showering when they have the time to, and the RA probably just really needed to use the restroom. This seems like more of a structural issue, because it’s hard to tell people to just…be dirty if they don’t have the time to shower later or to just piss themselves if they have to use the restroom.

And really, in all dorms, there should be at least two bathrooms for this exact reason

There are 4 bathrooms on the floor, another one pretty close that has a toilet. The other two are a little out of the way and would have to walk to a different section of the floor, but there’s 5 toilets and showers in there too.

…bro then why didn’t you say that? Your original reply implies that there’s one bathroom, and that one bathroom has a shower and sink. If there’s multiple bathrooms, then tell them to leave. They have no reason to stay after being told to leave if there’s multiple bathrooms.

You’re good, but yeah, tell them to leave. Just say the area is closed for cleaning. After a few times, the incidents should go down as people understand the rules. I’m also not sure if this is a majority-freshman dorm where there’s a lot of girls who don’t know the social rules around college yet. Then again, I have some freshman in my building, and I’ve never seen anyone go into a bathroom that’s getting cleaned. But still.

Nah, only upper classman are allowed in the building cause there are sorority suites in it, the university is skeptical about recruiting and etc and most of them are in a sorority themselves
