I gave my ex flowers all the time. I would add flowers to the bouquet that had meaning. For example, purple roses, and I’d leave them on his car or surprise him with them. He’s an ex for a reason… I feel like he felt my gestures emasculated him, but I just want to be treated how I treated him. I never received the same treatment even though both of us loved Shakespeare. Now I expect flowers first. To be honest, a lot of us are jaded by men’s lack of gratitude. This is from my own experience.
