Eh, it’s valid to be upset but aren’t there some things you miss about being single? Like not having to monitor your schedule to include someone else, being able to not eat/eat a lot without thinking about someone else? I think where he’s coming from is missing having complete and total agency over his life. I had a similar conversation with my girlfriend recently so maybe I’m projecting how she explained what she was feeling.

valid but give him a chance to dig himself out of the hole. if he says something else stupid in the explanation then you're completely justified

yes i do get it. but the instance that he said this was talking about going home from the bar with me. for context- we both went out separately with each of our friend groups to the same bars. i was completely fine with keeping separate and maybe meeting up later and i did not make him leave him friends at all but eventually he found me and he seemed upset and said he wanted me to go home with him. and then i asked him later why he was upset and that’s when he said this. so like im just confused
