I have what’s referred to as gender dysphoria so trying to play a character causes me immense mental and physical pain, sort of like you were forced to pretend to be a gender you were not your mind would tell you it feels wrong correct? Well it’s the same for me, but also it doesn’t really effect you in any way, I’m not an athlete or anything like that just a filmmaker trying to exist, simply a person the same as you
But I’m also not trying to steal anything from anyone I simply exist as I am, you don’t have to agree with me,a lot of people in my family don’t but do I hate them no I don’t I see them as people, again you don’t have to use my name or pronouns or anything as long as you respect me existing and just let me live my life then we’ll be fine and as a person I respect who you are what I don’t respect is berating someone else in the comments, would you feel happy if I did that to you no you wouldn’t
Gender dysphoria is a mental illness that can be treated. You seem like a fine person that’s confused so I’ll tell you to just stay the same gender and eventually everything will work out fine for you. But I’m sorry, feeding into crazy delusions like this allows for crazy people to go into women’s bathrooms freely and allows for women to easily be sexually assaulted.
And if you claim it’s a mental illness like you said would you go to anyone else with a mental illness and mock them? I severely doubt you would, which is why your comments felt just like bullying for no reason, and I would never ask that it happen to you, I don’t think you deserve to be harassed or mocked so please don’t do it to me
But also would you say that to someone else with a mental illness or would you mock them? Because if you believe that I have one then you are simply trying to insult someone who has a mental illness for simply having it which would make what your doing just being mean for no reason
you’re talking about biological sex sweetie. that is different from gender. no one is arguing that you can change your chromosomes (there are more variations than xx and xy tho btw) gender on the other hand is a physical presentation and embodiment of traits that only humans have. gender exists on a spectrum from traditionally feminine to masculine. one can fall anywhere on this spectrum and identify how they see fit.
The thing I’m trying to say is cruelty does nothing but make anything worse, leading like that does nothing but make me feel like your trying to harass me which happens daily, if you lead with what you said I don’t think your trying to help, just please try to be kinder so at most I disagree and it doesn’t sound like you want to cause me harm
don’t pretend that you have concern over them being mentally ill. this is clearly not about mental health for you. if you knew anything about psychology you would know that it is widely agreed upon that the best solution for those experiencing gender dysphoria is to transition. that is THE answer agreed upon by scientists , researchers and clinical practitioners. to act like you know better than actually psychology experts is laughable.
Saying “transition is THE answer agreed upon by scientists” isn’t accurate. The consensus is that gender-affirming care can be an effective treatment for many people with gender dysphoria after careful clinical evaluation, not that every person should transition or that transition universally resolves mental health issues. The research generally shows benefits for many patients, but the evidence is more mixed and individualized than you’re claiming.
don’t pretend that you know what you’re talking about lmao. trans people exist and have existed since the beginning of recorded human history. the vast majority of evidence shows that trans people benefit from transitioning. and the consequences can be extreme if they are unable to transition. a very small percentage regret transitioning or end up detransitioning.
But, I don't think transitioning is the right solution. Altering a healthy body to treat psychological distress is something that should be approached with extreme caution, especially since not everyone benefits and some people later regret it. Saying it's the answer for everyone ignores those realities.
It’s definitely not a one size fits all thing your right there, but i assure you my doctors and therapists I’ve been talking about this too for years concluded it would be effective and help with a lot of stuff:) this isn’t just a decision I’m jumping too I promise I’ve taken a lot of time and research into it, and if it ever feels bad I’ll stop
transitioning doesn’t automatically mean medically transitioning and getting surgery/ hormones. i didn’t suggest that in my comment, literally no one did. transitioning can mean making small social changes and changes in appearance, which is what every psychology professional recommends as a first step. ur ignorance is showing once again
don’t listen to #4, their opinions are clearly derived from ignorance and misunderstanding, not genuine care for your health and wellbeing. listen to real professionals and those that know and care about you. you are valid you are seen and you are going to be okay! good luck in your journey
i have a degree in psychology, i have a trans sister, and am close with many other gender non conforming/ trans individuals. supporting trans people and science is not an opinion, or a matter of belief. i follow science. you arent adding value because you are shaped by your ignorance
unless you literally mean you conducted studies you have not “done research” on this subject. that’s called googling shit and you likely only cherry pick the shit that affirms your beliefs. i don’t believe at all that you actually have looked into what it means to be transgender, given the fact that you couldn’t even understand the difference between sex and gender. please.
didn’t i already tell you i have a degree in psychology ? obviously i look at research, and there is broad support among many major medical organizations for gender affirming care as an effective treatment for gender dysphoria in appropriately evaluated patients. and yes it should be a case by case approach that is evaluated at a clinical level
