Is there a reason you guys came up with the word “situationship” as a euphemism for just allowing yourself to be in a fwb situation

From my understanding, a Situationship is more than just an FWB because in this situation they want all of the benefits a exclusive relationship would bring just without the commitment part and the labels. They dont see each other as friends but they also are holding back from it being a real relationship

Yeah I feel like ppl just give it their own definition atp like in high school this girl called every guy she liked part of a situationship and ik for a fact girly was not hitting any of that

Situationship implies either both of you aren’t sure what you’re looking for or one of you wants more but the other doesn’t/isn’t sure so you’re doing something less committed as a compromise. A FWB implies the only thing you want from each other is sex without the confusion of if either of you want more or doesn’t quite know what they’re looking for. One can lead to the other and there’s some overlap but they aren’t the same.

Sounds to me like it’s just fwb but one person is delusional and thinks it’s going to become more while the other is content

Fwb doesn’t mean exclusive tho while I think situation ship probably brings exclusivity

Many “situationships” appear to be not exclusive from what I’ve gathered also some I’m pretty sure many fwbs are sexually exclusive

My understanding is that fwb doesn’t have to be but situations usually are

They why do they complain if they enter into such an agreement. Situationship is always used with negative connotation fwb isn’t

Situationship I think pretty much only happens when one person wants a relationship but it doesn’t happen or when both are just terrified of commitment

So basically someone is unhappy by it

Well that’s what I’m saying basically the first half you said is just friendzoned lol. But the other half is new to me

Is it just friend zoned if ur doing sexual stuff tho? I’d consider friendzone when ur not doing anything and just rejected

I mean if we add the sex part then it’s basically a Fwb but someone caught feelings

Yeah that’s what I said pretty much. Fwb is friends but have sex, situationship is sex but more than just normal friend connection

First example is just unreciprocated feelings. Second one is same thing but it already got to a fwb point and one of them is in love. I feel like it’s important to say this that men don’t even use this term at all it’s only women and it’s always a negative term
