I’m cis so my perspective may not be as wholly accurate but it’s -hopefully- not as bad as it is in some internet spaces. It of course is an extremely pressing issue and of course can still be present in public but I haven’t seen it happen to my trans friends (or at when I was present with them -and of course they still have unsettling stories-) but I think (and hope) most people wouldn’t care or at least mind their own business.
To an extent. Transphobia is very normalized among straight people, but it’s not as extreme as the internet makes it sound. I’ve seen many guys who rant about how much they hate trans folk completely ignore the fact someone’s trans when interacting them in public. So essentially, hate speech is very popular, but actual violence isn’t.
Yeah for sure, i mean it depends a lot on where you are, unfortunately how you look, how you carry yourself, who youre with, what places you hang out at, etc. all my friends are trans and ive dated several trans women and there are all kinds of places and things to do and feel safe but theres a lot of discomfort if not violence as well. Too much nuance for yy comment but if u wanna talk dms are open
