At at our old job, she very quickly befriended two girls who everybody else was already worry about. As her friend, I advised her to be observant and set boundaries. Their friendship only "grew" until one event where both gaslight her into paying them money for shit she wasn't inherently responsible for and now its over, but she only now realized they were never a friend to begin with

The best you can really do is to explain it to her, but some people don’t really absorb that kind of advice until they actually see the situation play out and see what you were talking about
