giggling bc 14s comment was deleted. deadass was talking about âputting the blame on people whoâve done nothing wrongâ as if it automatically means they did something right and not literally just the bare minimum. wonder if bro keeps the same energy in holding other men accountable for being abusive and predatory đŹđ«©
Black ppl arenât monolithic so why should I care what percentage of ppl do what? Our systemic issues have nothing to do with your little situation growing up that is not the same thing. You did something bad you deserve it. Police brutality on innocent black ppl is not the same thing
the problem in your argument is it literally isnât as simple as âonly a few men did this bad thing donât be mean to all of us đ â. itâs not black and white, and itâs not as small of a percentage of people contributing to the problem as youâre making it out to be. how many men are not rapists, but still sexually harass women in their lives? or cover for their predatory bros? or victim blame? or deflect when women are sharing their experiences, like you are actively doing under this post?
no true scotsman many *actual* christians both practice and preach these things and nothing is changed/improved by simply saying they're not "actual" christians. i think christians who oppose their views should be calling them bad (or maybe a less elementary word) christians. saying they're not christians is just a way to lazily dismiss criticisms of the community - and frankly many of them would say the same about people with your perspective
So as a man, You cannot predict anyoneâs behavior. The âact like childrenâ comment is resorting to women not putting out. Thats basically all that is. So heâs saying men canât get their way theyâre gonna r@p3 you. This only applies to some men not all men are like this.
I say that they are not actual Christians or followers of Jesus because in this case they practice a demonized and twisted (by man of course) version of Jesusâ teachings and what the Bible tells us. You can claim to be a Christian/follower of Jesus all you want, but that doesnât automatically make you one. What makes you one is practicing the doctrine that He spoke of and the Bible speaks of. Nothing more and nothing less
Iâm not religious. But Iâm tired of people claiming theyâre with any religion. Because it makes them feel like theyâre a good person. Baby it ainât that much forgiveness in the world. Goes to show no one has respect for themselves, discipline and/or remorse. You need to follow the rules of your bible and live your life like that. If thatâs what you wanna be. But yes Pedos need to die point blank period. No essay for that.
Currently Iâm a part of a house church at my university where we invite people to come and learn how to be disciples of Jesus within a group memberâs home. This includes following the commands of Jesus as well as obeying the Great Commission where we instruct people how to practically share the Gospel with those who are interested
Iâll be honest I had never heard of that until I looked it up, but I again will say that these things are not a part of the original laws and commands of Jesus. They are man made twists and additions that are a grab for money, power, status, or as a way to create loopholes. For example, the Catholic Church used to sell tickets to Heaven, or âindulgences,â to its members. This of course is not a part of the actual doctrine because we as Christians know our only ticket to Heaven is through Jesus -
And it was simply a ploy of sorts to grab money. This eventually received major backlash which is what led to the Protestant Reformation and eventually the many denominations of protestants today. My point being the church was challenged by figures like Martin Luther because the church was going against the original doctrine which was the Bible itself
Yâall donât know how to keep it to yourselves, though. Itâs always âprayers! Amen! God bless! God has a plan! God does this, god does that!â Every single day, everywhere we go. Yâall have billboards setup across the world blasting the bullshit at any opportunity possible.
Iâm not going to respect what was used to wipe out tens of millions of people, what severed me from my ancestors and their cultures, language, traditions, and stories. This is not a Christian nationâ itâs a colony where you are welcome to be christian. If you want a christian country, go back to Europe and pick a spot.
It absolutely does promote slavery. Your âholy, powerful, lovingâ god sure as shit didnât have anything to say against it. Even the accounts of Jesus never said anything against it. The bible is fraught with infanticide. Exodus 21:15, 12:29-30, 21:17, proverbs 30:17, Matthew 15:4, just some examples of how sick it is.
Yeah so being that it is in the OT does actually make a pretty big difference. To oversimplify it, the OT is essentially now a history book. It is a recounting of events that lead up to the prophesying of Jesusâ birth, crucifixion, death + burial, resurrection, and everything in between. The OT represents the Old Covenant which Christians have not followed since the resurrection of Jesus when the New Covenant was established and the veil on the temple was torn
Child âmarriageâ/abuse/SA⊠Num 31:17-18. Kill everyone except the girls, and take them for yourselves. The Hebrew word specifically says female children. Deut21:10-14 take them, let her mourn a month, marry⊠if you rape her, she canât be a slave. Doesnât matter if they were âconsideredâ adults for that time. Same with islamâ 53 and 6? 56 and 9? Even the revisionist 16-19 with 53-56 is predatory. Itâs absolutely foul.
Again, all of those verses in the NT you mentioned were laws that were applicable for the current practices (key phrase â>) at the time. Because think about it, most laws and commands given in the Bible were around 2000 years ago. Obviously we donât live life the same way anymore, right? So most of the laws and commands have to be translated and converted into a modern day form. Otherwise around 30% of the global population would be living life a heck of a lot differently
The NT does not state the Bible is âA-OK,â the commands on slavery were written because it was a practice at the time just like most of the other commands that were written. Again, due to changes in todayâs modern society, those laws and commands are reinterpreted to be applicable to what is practiced now
Again, Iâm not trying to convince you. From your initial comment it was obvious you were closed off, and thatâs your choice and thatâs perfectly fine. My last comment to this thread (bc atp weâre just wasting each otherâs time) is this: the Word of God is actually so great that the laws and commands of 2000 years ago can still be applied to a modern life. What makes it infallible is that it comes from God, and my God does not make mistakes. Have a blessed day/evening my friend
Cool. Doesnât mean your myth is real or that your fairytale is good. Your god absolutely does make mistakes in your mythology and to suggest otherwise is laughable. Age of laws donât prove anything, either. Code of Ur-Nammu is much older and some of that could absolutely still apply. Guess Utu is the one true god by your logic.
"As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are around you. You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their clans that are with you, who have been born in your land, and they may be your property. You may bequeath them to your sons after you to inherit as a possession forever. You may make slaves of them, but over your brothers the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another ruthlessly."
