i have never met a woman who says “kill all men,” but even if that is the case, two wrongs don’t make a right. calling something an emotional response is not an excuse for bad behavior beyond maybe 18 months old. definitely should’ve grown out of that by the time you can type.

i did not defend the reverse; that was a different commenter. there is also nothing about his comment to indicate it was hyperbole, and when you are in the privileged group, you have an ethical duty not to talk down to marginalized groups, the same way it would be inappropriate for me to make a race joke about people of color as a white woman.
