Nothing is safe, and you go with friends and people you trust. They don’t go thinking it’s gonna be them. People do many dangerous things because they are fun. Do you drive? Why do you drive, if taking a bus is safer? You will not die in a bus accident.

women that go probably are aware of the risk but it just feels contradicting that we need to be the ones to watch out for frats when frats should be upholding better standards for themselves. it’s like saying “yk the risk of wearing that short skirt so why do you do it” well bc anyone who’s taking advantage of someone for being somewhere (at a frat) or wearing something should be educated and taught right from wrong. woman shouldnt be taught to reduce risk, predators should be educated

i went to frats as a freshman because it was free alcohol and the only parties around. def not a status thing. me and my friends were safe and implemented safety precautions always. we went to frats where we knew some guys and trusted them, and avoided the ones with shady rumors. nothing bad ever happened.

I don’t go to frats. That doesn’t mean that I can’t call out the horrible things they do. Some frats have a different reputation. I refuse to take that type of risk (and my school doesn’t have frats anyways) but that doesn’t mean everyone does so. No matter what we shouldn’t have to fear being raped for going somewhere on campus.
