I think at least a bit of intentional styling is preferable over a buzz cut, if you have a full head of hair. But I do remember a guy in high school who got a buzz cut of like 1” and girls were going up to him asking to pet his hair lol

Personally, a little longer and fluffy. But I think that a fade makes it look more put together, as opposed to the same length over the whole head.
