My engagement just got broken off and I still have to go to work and smile because I work with kids. How do I handle this without breaking down at work?

I would’ve called out sick for the rest of the week (food poisoning)💀

I’m so sorry, I agree with #1 please take some time off if you can. I know it’s like torture trying to go through the motions while you can’t stop thinking about it. If you have to be at work though I think there’s really nothing to do other than try to preoccupy yourself with being super focused on work

Even kids would understand. But yeah, time off to have your feelings might be warranted

Take off.I got broken up with a couple years ago and I work with kids. I tried to go and that was a mistake and I got sent home in the middle of the shift. You have to feel your feelings before you can handle others. Explain the situation to your boss and take a self care day or two.

give yourself some time off pls. breakups are soooo hard. i can only assume the same for if you were engaged to the person. take some time off. explain the situation and hopefully they’ll understand. after that, you’re still probably gonna feel it but work helps as a distraction but if you need to cry, just go to the bathroom and breakdown there. i’m so sorry you’re going through this
