TMI but I need a girls girl to help me out. How do you get rid of razor bumps on your vag? I use products after shaving that are supposed to prevent razor bumps but they’ve done absolutely nothing 😭 any advice?

okay idk abt after but here is my advice for shaving: use a mens razor exfoliate (be careful closer to ur vulva) and wash ur body before shaving never go against the direction of hair growth, always go in the same direction or perpendicular after u get out of the shower and dry off, put a little bit of deodorant along bikini line and pubic mound but not near the actual organs. i also have been using an anti bacterial spray that’s been helping w my body acne

and avoid wearing bottoms that might chafe against the area (i.e. tight denim shorts, underwear with thick seams along the bikini line) immediately after shaving, the friction doesn’t help the bumps. this might not be possible depending on when u shower and what ur doing after but i usually shower at night which means i can choose whatever i want to wear to bed

okay so a friend told me she does this a few years back (context i’ve been a ballet dancer my whole life so it comes up) and she didn’t really explain why, but my guess is that it helps protect against bacteria bc that’s the role of deodorant, it acts like a shield against the bacteria that causes sweat to smell. i use secret outlast sweat and odor clear gel, which is technically an antiperspirant but it works alright for me. i’ve used solid deodorant for the same thing occasionally

Does it have aluminum or is it aluminum free?

ofc! also i forgot to say make sure to replace ur razor regularly, they don’t work as well when theyre old and dull, and the vast majority of the products i use are unscented/for sensitive skin which probably helps

it has aluminum (aluminum zirconium octachlorohydrex), it’s the active ingredient bc it’s an antiperspirant. the friend who told me abt this said that any deodorant works tho, she said that she uses men’s deodorant and it worked for her. also i forgot to say that u should let ur hair grow back some in between shaves, trying to shave hair thats barely there will probably result in irritating the skin
