If a guy is “too eager” it could be a lot of things but the first things that come to mind is that he was being a bit to desperate and showing it. A relationship built from someone just wanting another person to want another person rather than to work as a team isn’t the most stable foundation.

People like mutual things. Balance. And your eagerness was not in balance with hers. The best relationship is one where you both like each other similar amounts, right? It’s uncomfortable if you’re mildly interested and the person you’re with is too obsessed.
