If your guy friend asked you out on a date and you said no, would that ruin the friendship?

Depends on the friendship, where we’re both at and how he takes the no

I feel like “kinda” bc it’s typically the guy friends that change the way they act, sometimes they grow resentful or distant after which ruins the friendship

it’s happened to me a few times. they got over it eventually and we’re still good friends.

Yes but only because I’m already in a relationship and that’s very obvious as I talk about it all the time and he’s my phone screen saver lol. But if I was single, not at all. I would ask about boundaries to help keep feelings platonic (agreed upon mutually) but ultimately I wouldn’t change my opinion on our friendship

I think it’s really normal for friends to develop feelings for each other for fleeting moments or maybe longer, but as long as there is communication and boundaries then it’s fine. The dynamic might change a little bit like if I start dating someone the rules might change to be “we can’t hang out one on one privately” or something but it would be fine ultimately
