When men try to make me feel special by saying I’m not like other girls it makes me feel not only less than a woman but less than me. I feel like it takes some of my identity and rips it out of my chest

A lot of the time when they say "you're not like other girls" they're trying to make you feel special and isolate you from your other women. It turns out it just sounds weird anyway like an insult towards women in general
