Having someone’s number is a lot of pressure, and makes it feel almost obligatory to respond or initiate messages at any hour of the days since your phone makes you available 24/7. I wouldn’t even ask for her/his number right from the gate.

Not that weird, just make sure you can read her signals. If you want to talk to her, give her your number instead of the other way around. If she doesn’t text, she doesn’t like you

Go up to her and say “hey! I just wanted to let you know I loved your outfit.” And if you want her number say something aling the lines of “I would love to get your number, but I want you to be as comfortable as possible, so here is mine and you can choose whether you’d like to text me. (Have your number written down)” girls just want to feel comfortable. And you also have to be prepared for the fact that she might not text you at all.
