What point? Unless they have no undies on it’s okay. Don’t need to see the bush walking to class. But short shorts in the summer is cool just don’t overdo it having straight butt out. But idk what you want them to do about the top just don’t directly stare and gawk. Boobs are gonna boob
feminism is about equality and autonomy, not making everybody comfortable or participating in respectability politics. one of the core "idea"s and "message"s of feminism is that women should have choice over their bodies - not that they should only choose to do with their bodies that which makes others most comfortable
How you dress is how the world gonna see you. If I’m wearing ripped shirt and got a nappy head you think I’m a be taken seriously ? Like I said ain’t nun wrong wearing a crop top. But wearing a skirt 2 sizes too small or string crops are too far. Especially as people of color our parents taught us that straight outta the womb. What we do say, act on the internet represents all African Americans.
if i see somebody in a small skirt i see a person in a small skirt. i don't make assumptions about their character because i was taught (by MY black family) not to judge a book by it's cover. i've also learned in my career that some of the ppl who influence national politics and economics (therefore taken very seriously) dress like they were born in a shelter 🤷🏽♀️
i empathize with you, but it's not my nor any individuals job to carry the weight of the black community's presentation on their shoulders. frankly, you uphold that unfair double standard more than anybody else could by lending credence to the idea that we should carry that weight. racists point to ppl with your views like tokens when they want to justify their biased thinking
and again, you say "how you dress is how the world will see you" but you don't speak for the world. all i'm seeing is that you agree that you don't respect women who dress skimpy; but you're trying to assuage the guilt you feel for thinking this by dragging the entire world into it. speak for yourself because as a member of said world i think this is a pathetic perspective
it wouldn't lol. like what am i supposed to say? "oh no! a man with his booty out wants to know where room 403 is or... my heavens... the time 😱" just say that you judge people on appearances and call it a wrap. that's allowed you know? nobody can force you not to make assumptions or not operate on biases and stereotypes
