So I’ve known someone for years and I’ve had a crush on them for most of that. We’ve been friends and know each other pretty well. Starting this semester, she’s had a crush on me, and we started hanging out/studying more often before I eventually asked her out

I start doing kind of romantic things like buying her flowers and bringing her food, then she texts me and says that this was too quick of a turnaround, and that this is the first time she’s thought about it. I agreed to slow down and go back a bit to go through things properly, but before I had the chance to see her again, she ended things.

We still talk between study sessions, and I was wondering how long would be appropriate to ask for a second chance, if that’s appropriate at all. Because tbh I didn’t know what a talking stage really entailed
