Even if it isn’t fully based in the truth (a lot of times people’s genuine experiences aren’t fully based in truth) I still trust that something happen which caused that person to feel uncomfortable

I’m currently in a very competitive overseas paid internship, my counterpart has allegations that did not stop him from getting this, and had the AUDACITY to, after I told him to stop talking to me about it because I’m a victim and not the right person to dump that on, interrogate me and imply our situations were somehow the same. I’m sick of people acting like there’s some epidemic of false rape accusations OR that even actual rape, not to mention just allegations, faces any significant consequences on a systemic level. Yeah it happens but it’s vanishingly rare because our culture and systems punish victims, not rapists.
