I believe if there’s an allegation it should be taken seriously but the person is still innocent until proven guilty. But it definitely shouldn’t ever be ignored until there’s enough evidence one way or another

Literally. I’m currently in a very competitive overseas paid internship, my counterpart has allegations that did not stop him from getting this, and had the AUDACITY to, after I told him to stop talking to me about it because I’m a victim and not the right person to dump that on, interrogate me and imply our situations were somehow the same. My real rapist also had zero repercussions in case you were wondering

I’m sick of people acting like there’s some epidemic of false rape accusations OR that even actual rape, not to mention just allegations, faces any significant consequences on a systemic level. Yeah it happens but it’s vanishingly rare because our culture and systems punish victims, not rapists.
