There’s a similar undercurrent of bioessentialism and I disagree with both statements, but they absolutely do not have the same impact in terms of excusing bad behavior

i don’t think saying that men are evil suggests their behaviour is permissible in the way that boys will be boys does. men being evil is just a fact atp.

People are not inherently evil just because they’re born male though, bioessentialism doesn’t help women

i said men not males. and i never said this sentiment helps women but it’s a common experience for us to feel that way. complaining about how every man treats you poorly and recognizing the way they are socialized is actually kinda evil isn’t the same as excusing their behaviour. if that makes sense

like i agree i don’t think that statement is particularly useful or helpful either but it’s often just used by women to call out men for their shitty behaviour. not to literally defend rapists like “boys will be boys” so i just don’t see it as anywhere near as harmful
