Why is he reminding himself that he loves you and choosing you? I feel like that's not something you need help to remember. And choosing you? For some reason, it sounds like he might have some underlying regret in a way. Never had a bf say something like that ever personally.

i think this is a perfectly healthy thing to remind yourself of about your partner, but telling them that is kind of weird

You have every right to be because thats a hurtful thing to hear. It just sounds like he's trying to convince himself that he loves and wants you which is not something you ever want to hear from a partner
