I worked at a place that had single stall bathrooms with no gender signs and the way men would act in the bathroom compared to the woman proves the reason why we have genders two single stall bathrooms. I don’t think is unnecessary, I think women are way cleaner than men when using the bathroom.

I noticed when traveling in Europe it was really common for there to just be 1 big bathroom with single stalls and a shared sink space. Everyone just minded their business

I wish urinals got more privacy so we could just have one big bathroom with everything in it, would probably be more efficient to clean too

Thats mostly what my school has. No urinals but one larger room with more private stalls

Ohhh I didn’t even think about that being the reason but that’s valid

Idk as someone who has cleaned bathrooms i think its still worth it to have gender neutral ones. Like esp for trans ppls safety

I have also cleaned bathrooms before and we are talking about two different things. I was explaining on why some businesses may choose to label them. For single stall bathrooms in particularly I don’t see the need to bring up trans people when it’s a private single use stall not a public bathroom…

Because gendered bathrooms are less safe for trans ppl, whether it be public bathrooms or in a business, even if single stall. I know lots of trans ppl that just hold it all day if there are no gender neutral bathrooms

I’ll just end this conversation now, this was never about trans people until you made it about them. I was talking about the experiences of cleaning bathrooms based on how women and men tend to leave them and why businesses chose to put genders on bathrooms. That’s the point I made, and I will stand on that.

"this was never about trans people" dawg the post is literally about gendered bathrooms. your argument was "men gross" and somebody told you that trans people's safety is more important than that. just because YOU don't consider trans people doesn't mean they aren't a part of this discussion

In my area at least the single user bathrooms at Starbucks are gender neutral because of a state law. Even the ones with a toilet and a urinal is gender neutral. My aunt runs a construction and had single user bathrooms but one is for men and one is for women. Probably because of (realistic) fear of men making a mess when peeing but in our state singe gender single user bathrooms are illegal.

Im not discounting that at all. Im bringing trans ppl up cuz its relevant to bathroom access. Was also gonna comment about single stall ones being more accessible in general with larger stalls for disabled folks. Its called universal design to plan facilities for ppl of all abilities to use.

I took a break stop at a taco bell during a long road trip and ended up using the single mens stall after my dad to save time bc there was a line and there wasn't even a urinal in there. I was like, why isn't this just unisex then 😭😭
