Proposals are supposed to be surprises, and you don’t know how your man would feel about getting proposed to. What if he hates it? Even if you know he wouldn’t mind the general idea, you have to either risk getting no for an answer (if he’s not clearly thinking about marrying you soon) or risk making him lose a lot of money for no reason on rings (if he is clearly hoping for marriage).
