Do people forget that gay guy are still guys? Like it's not shocking for some of them to still be misogynistic or have misogynistic tendencies. Also some of them still lack standards and that doesn't change because they're gay

I mean a surprising amount of people are shocked to learn that lesbians can indeed get pregnant still so. No i dont think people understand that being gay doesnt change your gender too

a lot of guys (including gay guys) are accidentally misogynistic. like they don’t even realize they’re doing it. gay guys are slightly less likely to be this way because they’re already hyper aware when they are treated differently due to being gay, so they are more likely to be aware when a woman is being treated differently. but it does still happen

One of the most misogynistic guys I ever met was a gay guy

I’ve found that gay guys are often either pretty good about gender stuff or super misogynistic in a different way than straight guys Like, there is opportunity to connect and relate to women but also there is opportunity to have zero respect or care for women without having the confounding factor of also having feelings for us Most gay guys I’ve known have been chill tho

this one gay guy i knew would always slap girls, call them bitches, and take their tampons like he needed them. He thought he was one of the girls so he did nothing wrong 🙄

Im sorry but i dont entirely agree with this sentiment, just because gay guys have also experienced marginalization doesn't mean they will be necessarily better at being attune to women and the issues and struggles we face. Gay men can still benefit from male privilege and doesn't mean they will be aware of the difference types of misogyny women may face.

they aren’t always, but they are more likely to be cognizant than straight guys. at least this has been my experience. definitely not all of them are

actually maybe it’s not from being gay but from hanging out with a lot of women. i think guys with sisters tend to be more cognizant too because they see it happen a lot more frequently

yeah you’re right i changed my mind lol. in my experience gay guys have been better about it but i realize now it’s probably a result of being friends with a lot of women rather than being gay
