Okay so anime isn’t a red flag necessarily but… THAT ANIME IS. Run away very fast. Please trust me on this, anyone who watches this type of anime is not someone you want to be around. Especially if he’s this obsessed.

Personally that’s a red flag. I get having characters you really like or identify with but when your life starts to center around them to the point where you are investing that much time and money because you are sexually attracted to them it becomes weird.Especially considering his age.The fact that he chose you and has pointed out the similarities suggests you are (for lack of a better phrase) the closest he can get to “the real thing”. This is different than having a type, it’s an obsession.

Girl run. I’ve never in my life seen someone that obsessed over an anime, anime isn’t bad but if it got to that level that’s a very unhealthy and unstable man. Who will prob always compare you to a fictional sex appealed character. Leave. I’ve watched the show and it’s really awkward, great show but the romance aspect is like 5 very very stupid teenage quintuplets fall in love with their tutor. Idk what he sees in it that got it to be that far but that’s not realistic

Yeah I agree with a lot of this convo it’s one of those series that is really well written but people take it too far, there’s a reason I don’t own merch of any character that’s underage is I hate when people sexualize them like your bf is seeming to do

I don’t know. It depends. Maybe mention something about finding the character online and the age being way different than he said. But literally any person I have met who is obsessed with that show is creepy. Stay safe as your first priority

It’s a harem anime where this high school guy is trying to win these girls over to tutor them because they’re rich, and then you get a glimpse of a “mystery bride” as it turns out he marries one of them. The whole plot is finding out which one he marries. Again the girls are all 17/18 because they’re quintuplets

If you can live with the fact that you’re sort of a replacement in his life for a fictional character that he still seems to love more than you then maybe this can be worked through. Personally I wouldn’t want anything to do with him but again it’s your boyfriend
