School funding is based on property value and is an outdated mode of funding. Voters can also choose to not vote to fund schools. Also their labor is not respected, schooling in general is contentious policywise, among many other things

It’s seen as easy bc you get the summer off, and it’s also seen more as women’s work. Not that professors get good pay either
