Ok so in a club or a bar, if a woman doesn’t seem equally engaged after the first minute or two of talking should you just call it quits? Like I don’t want to linger for too long but I also just don’t know what’s realistic

A good indication is if they keep looking around and keep saying one word responses.

So I did like 9 approaches last night and like half turned out like that but there was one girl who was actually leaning in and asked a couple questions but she stopped contributing after a couple minutes so I just left

Hm, well sorry to hear. For me anyways, if I am engaged in conversation and I like you: I’m making eye contact, smiling/laughing, touching your arm and asking follow up questions.
